International Exhibition
Ex-Libris “Myths and Legends”
In order to
divulge the practice of the art of ex libris, Xylon Argentina and GADEL
(Bookplates Friend People) call to participate in the International
Exhibition of ex libris.
The aim of
this exhibition is to display a view of ex libris in different parts of
the world and have an insight into the work of various artists.
Artists of
the speciality will assess the quality of the works submitted.
Rules:

The
invitation is open and free, being able to participate argentine and
foreign artists over 16 years old.

The
theme to develop is “Myths and legends”, that may be local in each
country, or regional for Argentina.

Each
artist may participate with a maximum of 3 works, from which two
prints of each should be sent, signed without framing or board. In
the back the following information must be written in pencil: year
of execution, technique, full name, address and the artist’s e.mail.

Each
work must be accompanied with a small review or summary of which
myth or legend the work is about.

There’re allowed traditional graphic techniques including screen
printing and computer design. No drawings or photocopies will be
accepted.

The
format of bookplates must not exceed 13 x 13 cm, and the paper
shouldn’t exceed 20 x 15 cm.

The
image, related to the myth or legend,must be accompanied by the
inscription “ex libris”, as well as the name of the owner.

prints should be addressed to:

And the
deadline for the admission is August 30th 2008.

Works
can also be personally delivered only on August 21st and
28th Thursdays and 15th, 22nd and
29th Fridays, from 17 to 20 hs at the same address.

The
works will not be returned and will become part of the heritage of
Xylon Argentina and GADEL. The works received outside term will
not be accepted.

A Jury
will make a selection of works to be displayed according to their
quality.

The
exhibition will take place from November 5th to November
26th at the Fine Arts Museum in Quilmes, adhering to the
proposal of El Caliú 30 Days International for the engraving
diffusion.

The
exhibition material will be disseminated to all Ex libris Societies
belonging to FISAE (International Federation of Ex libris
Societies).

Documentation will be sent to each participant.

Five
works will be distinguished to be published on the official site of
our Society (www.xylonargentina.com.ar).

Participation implies acceptance of these rules.
